Juan Carlos Ferrer

Associate Professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, School of Engineering. His research field is operations management, specifically on topics regarding optimization of pricing and inventory policies and optimal scheduling of work shifts. He has participated in several research, teaching and consulting projects with the private sector, in companies such as Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Enron, UPS, Falabella, Matrix Group, Sodimac, Banco Santander, Codelco, among others. He has also partaken in several projects in the public sector: Fondecyt, Fondef and FDI-Corfo.

Has led projects for industries including Retail, Banking, Automotive, Real Estate, Fuel, Pharmaceutical, and Construction.

Nelson Vásquez

Civil Industrial Engineer with a Master of Engineering Sciences from Universidad Católica. He has 10 years of experience leading teams and implementing highly complex solutions for people management in large chain stores in Chile and Latin America, including Sodimac in Chile, Argentina and Colombia, as well as DyS, Tottus, among others. At Shift, he is responsible for R&D projects and a committee for the creation of new products and business lines. He is one of the founders and creators of Shift’s Workforce Management software, which runs in 10 Latin American countries and incorporates forecasting and work shift optimization models.

Pablo Vega

Civil Industrial Engineer with a Specialization in Transportation and Logistics from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Prior to joining Shift, he worked for the plastic manufacturer Wenco from 2012 to mid-2019, where he developed both optimization and mathematical models and systems to assist in the making of production decisions.

Civil Industrial Engineer with a Certification in Computer Science from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. With over 8 years of experience in IT Projects, he has participated in new developments, implementation of projects and customer support, overseeing IT operations.

Masato Wada

Civil Industrial Engineer with a Specialization in Transportation and Logistics from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He also serves as project manager and supervisor of the productivity consultants team working in industries such as retail, distribution and services. He has participated in projects for Ripley, Maicao, Sodimac Bodegas, Tradis, Hellmann, among other companies. Prior to joining Shift, he had 3 years of experience working as a consultant for the logistics consulting company Miebach Consulting.

Industrial Engineer specialized in commercial consulting for technological solutions. With over 17 years of experience in sectors such as Retail, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Consumer Goods, Food and Beverage, serving clients located in Mexico, the United States, Colombia, Ecuador, and Chile.

Under the wing of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile’s School of Engineering, an academic study is conducted that would be the forerunner of Shift. This research was used by a major Chilean retailer.

Due to the study’s success, Shift is born as a business unit within Universidad Católica (DICTUC). This year is marked by the development of the first version of our work shift management software.

The team grows and so does our good reputation. We get our first client in the supermarket industry.

Due to the robustness of our service and the confidence of our customers, Shift becomes a spin-off of DICTUC. In addition, this year we moved to a new office as the team continued to grow.

We were awarded the tender to manage the workforce of the Falabella Group in the Falabella Retail, Sodimac and Tottus businesses. Shift becomes a strategic partner of the Group, managing +500 department stores and managing the shifts of +90,000 workers in 7 Latin American countries.
